Bee-Cause You are So Sweet!

Today's bee-inspired card wraps up my Mother's Day Series this week!  If you love bees and vintage, I hope you've *caught* some *sweet* inspiration this week.  I created another digi-stamp for this card's sentiment, have you tried yours yet?

I added a kraft tag to the layers to switch things up a little bit.  My favorite cards always have texture and dimension :)  What about you, have you finished your cards yet?

Bee Joyous! Mother's Day Card Series

Happy Thursday!  Just popping over for my Queen Bee Mother's Day Card Series?  Check out the first post here.  Do you have a favorite shape for cards?  I used to have a thing about square-shaped cards...yes, even with the additional postage charge :)  For today's card, I put together some of the techniques from cards you saw earlier in the week.

The layering, chunky flowers, wood sentiment and hexagon shapes...bet you never saw such a pretty hexagon!  It has been fun seeing how many ways I can use these MME papers; when I sit down to design cards for Design Designs by Nancy, I try to stick to a similar color pallette for each batch.  Do you think these colors work well together?
What are your favorite color combos?

Bee-cause You are So Sweet ~ Mother's Day Card Series

I hope you are enjoying my "You Can Call Me Queen Bee" Card Series this week!  For today's honeycomb-inspired card, I kept it clean and simple, not a lot of layers and just a few accents.

I tried out the Fiskar's hexagon punch.  I love the way the hexagons turned out against the embossed background.  The sentiment is my own design...have you ever played around with making your own printable stamps?  When I don't see the rubber or acrylic stamps I need to finish a project, I just create my own on the computer and print them out.  PicMonkey has lots of fun fonts to choose from, so go experiment!

Bee-utiful You! Mother's Day Card Series

Hello lovelies, thanks for popping over to my "You Can Call Me Queen Bee" Mother's Day card series this week!  Today's card was inspired by my bee-utiful mom, who loved all things vintage and gardening.

I added a pop of pink to this one, and the bee paper from My Mind's Eye was perfect for the theme.  I played up the vintage feel by tucking a folded paper doily between the layers.
The pom pom trim adds just the right touch of whimsy, don't you think?
What are your favorite card-making embellishments?

Today's card is all about layers, texture and embellies...

I think the hexagon wood shaped button is my fave!

Make it Monday - Still Stamping!

Hey friends!  Today, I wanted to share another card I made for Mother's Day.  My theme this year is "Paris in the Springtime".  I challenged myself to see how many different cards I could come up with from just two stamps.  You saw that cute little bicycle stamp here, and this week, I'm using this lovely dress form, from Unity Stamp Company.  Love the vintage feel mixed with the modern and so feminine hot pink and animal print!

I am having so much fun playing with these new stamps AND seeing how much of my stash I can use up!  I want to send a huge *hug* and big thanks to my girl Donna K, over at Created by DonnaK for inspiring me to branch out into the world of stamps.

I don't know that I'll ever give up my stickers just yet, but I do like the flexibility of stamps.  Soon, I'm gonna break out the copics that are just gathering dust in my studio LOL!
Are you a diecut, sticker or stamp lover?

Paris in the Springtime ~ Mother's Day Card

Bonjour my lovely friends!  I'll bet you card makers have already started getting your Mother's Day ideas put together.  I wanted to share one of the cards I made as part of the batch I'm sending to a floral boutique in North Carolina.  The theme for Mother's Day at the shop is "Paris in the Springtime" and at first I was completely at a loss.  I'm trying to use only what I have available on hand, and the best I could come up with was some scrap paper with the Eiffel Tower on it!

Sooo, I got some ideas for colors and style from, you guessed it, Pinterest.  I put the colors together with some Unity Stamps I just got.  I decided to *challenge* myself and see how many combinations I can come up using just the 2 stamps.  Here's the first one.

Not my usual dimensional stickers, I know...does it make you think of  Paris?  More pictures to come next week!

Thanks for stopping by!
