With Sympathy

Today I'm sharing one of the cards I designed for the Divine Designs by Nancy Floral Shop in NC.  This has been my go-to quote in recent weeks since losing my mom to Cancer, so I thought it might be comforting to someone else too :)  The warm colors having me thinking about summer and beach trips spent with both my parents...I am so over this long winter!

The quote is printed on vellum, which can be tricky to work with since most adhesives will show up.  I used my ATG and hid the adhesive with the folded over paper on the upper right and with embellishments on the lower left.

You know I love adding dimension to my projects, this time I used a paper rose and chunky buttons, the wood heart with polka dots is my fave :)

What are your favorite card-making embellishments?

Saturday Spaces - Pretty Ribbon Storage

Hey friends...I've been working hard finishing up my taxes, but I did find time to work on a little craft room organization.  I don't know about you, but it seems like I keep searching for just the right way to store my ribbon, so that it is accessible AND mobile so I can take it with me wherever I'm crafting in the house.  I decided a few years back I liked the look of clear glass jars, but *somehow* the ribbon came off the spool and I found myself just stuffing the ribbon in them...not so pretty, right?

Then, I saw this pretty little picture on Pinterest here and knew I found a way to store and display
my ribbon that is so pleasing to the eye!

It only took me a couple of hours to wind most of my stash aroumd these wooden craft sticks.  They come in different sizes, I used ones that are about 5 7/8 inches long by 3/4 inch wide.

They work well for different ribbons widths too...

For the wider ribbons, I decided to keep them on the spools and store them in a larger glass jar.

Nothing like functional and pretty!  How do you keep your ribbon stash handy?

Thanks for stopping by!
